For each new commission it is important to stay sensitive to the clients preferences and be sympathetic to the interior in which the piece will finally rest. More than most we understand the intimate relationship between the design process, material selection, and making.

We feel that design should transcend personalities, styles and fashion and should become a product of its age, timeless in the lasting appreciation that it generates. We seek to design pieces that possess values beyond function, that will stimulate and enhance the quality of our clients lives.

We are frequently asked about our inspirations. Not connected to a particular style or fashion, we are inspired by our clients, the materials that we work with, and the technology and craftsmanship that enables us to explore new possibilities.

The commissioning process is an adventure for everyone involved. Working closely with you enables us to translate your ideas and tastes to guarantee a rewarding experience.

We prefer to start with an informal meeting, in the place where the piece will be located or the interior fitted. Here we are able to consider aesthetics, function, size, materials, budgets, delivery options and terms. We also bring along our portfolio and material samples for you to look through. We are more than happy to work with you directly or if you prefer through your architect or interior designer.

Once we have enough information we will start the design process.

To an agreed time frame we produce initial ideas and specifications.  We can then either re-visit or leave you to consider the designs at your convenience before final discussions including any modifications.

The final designs will be then be created using the appropriate method.  This could be freehand rendered sketches, technical drawings, or digital presentation and scale models. It is an essential stage, enabling us to produce work that you will cherish. Throughout this process we welcome your input.

A final detailed proposal will then be produced. If you decide to go ahead, a deposit will secure a place in our schedule, and a copy of the final drawings will go to our workshop.

Justin and his team will then begin the process of selecting the materials and once they have settled we will create the piece.

During the making process you are very welcome to visit and view the project as it evolves. Justin and Jane will oversee all areas of the commission.

As so much time and passion has been spent creating your individual piece, Justin or Jane will personally deliver the freestanding piece or be on site during the duration of the fitting to ensure our standards of installation are achieved. Work can also be shipped overseas.
